Last week the post brought the excellent news that my tender submissions for re-appointment as an Expert Adviser to the Heritage Lottery Fund had been successful.
The Heritage Lottery Fund uses Advisers to help assess grant applications and to work with applicants to develop and deliver their grants. Advisers have to re-apply every 3 to 4 years to be appointed to a Register of Support Services (ROSS) and part of the tender process involves demonstrating that you are an expert in your particular profession.
This will be my third term on the Register and I’m very relieved to be re-appointed – the covering letter describes the process as “fiercely competitive” with over 1,000 applicants at the second stage.
Most of my work is as an Adviser on Landscape and Biodiversity for the Landscape Partnerships grant programme but I have also worked on the Heritage and Parks for People grants. My work has ranged from visiting kitsch Edwardian seaside parks to helping applicants plan internationally important landscape scale habitat creation.
